Blogging is the best thing to happen to sewing! Sewing bloggers make sewing accessible and teach us how to do all things sewing! Whenever you need to learn a new skill a quick google search will have you connected to the right blogger to teach you! I have been lucky to get to meet so many wonderful sewing bloggers so I thought I would put together a list of all the best sewing bloggers in lots of different categories. If I can just toot my own horn here for a second. I have tons of general sewing tutorials and lots and lots of great projects and tutorials for beginners. If you are new to sewing I recommend you start HERE.
Sew What Alicia – That’s me! A little shameless promotion never hurt right? This site has tons of easy beginner projects. You can find everything you need to know about starting to sew and if you are ready to tackle the zipper THIS is the perfect place for you!
Polka Dot Chair – If you are looking for classic projects this is a great place to go. You will find everything from Mickey Mouse purses to classic quilt projects.
Sweet Red Poppy – Sweet Red Poppy has some adorable baby projects. This is also a great place to get some sewing patterns if you use a Cricut in your sewing.
Fleece Fun – The name says it all, this blog has all things fleece. You can find some great costume ideas and all the fun projects for winter!
Sew Can She – This blog has pretty much any project you can think of. This is a great place to go and find inspiration for your next project.
Sew Mama Sew – This is another fun place to find some inspiration. You can find tons of fun projects to sew.
Crazy Little Projects – If you are looking to create some fun kid projects this is a great place to look. You can find easy sewing projects for kids and also some great organizational ideas.
Embroidery and Cross Stitch
Embroidery is so pretty and I love following along with some really talented artists who practice embroidery. For tons of fun patterns start HERE.
Swoodson Says – This blog is accessible and easy. This is a great place for beginners to learn the basics of embroidery.
Flamingo Toes – If you are looking for the most adorable patterns and cutest embroidery projects this is the place to go! Bev is so talented and creative and I love every single project she does!
Kitschy Stitcher – Ok so this isn’t actually a blog, it is an instagram. BUT I find so much inspiration in all of the projects and it is my absolute favorite embroidery instagram page so I had to share!
The Snarky Crafter – If you love subversive cross stitch this is the place for you! And if that is you then you must check out these Inappropriate Cross Stitch Patterns!
Quilting

Diary of a Quilter – If you are looking for an amazing quilting resource this is definitely the place to go! You’ll find a ton of amazing classic quilting tutorials that is sure to scratch your quilting itch!
Tattooed Quilter – This is one of my favorite places to find quilting inspiration. Christopher designs his own fabric for Riley Blake and makes some of the sweetest quilts with his fabric.
Fave Quilts – This is a great place to search for a specific quilt technique. You can find quilts and tutorials from bloggers from all over the internet.
Fashion and Clothing Sewing
If you are wanting to make your own clothes or clothes for your kids you will want to check out these awesome blogs! If you are new to making clothes you might want to start HERE to learn about sergers because a serger is a must for sewing clothes.
Life Sew Savory – Emily makes tons of fun clothes. You can find swimsuits, athletic clothing, and clothes for boys and girls. This is a great place for beginners to start because Emily often does FB live videos walking you through her various patterns.
Heather Handmade – This is a great blog for anyone who wants to sew their own clothes. You will find lots of fun projects like dresses, sweaters, and skirts. Plus get tons of awesome clothing making tips and videos.
Melly Sews – If you are looking for a great resource on clothing this is it. Melly walks you through every step of clothing creation with tons of helpful tips and patterns.
See Kate Sew – Kate is my go to for baby clothes. She has so many beautiful little girl patterns.
Our Life is Beautiful – This amazing blog is full of fun refashion projects. Sarah repurposes drab clothes into fabulous outfits.
