Mini Quilt Pattern – National Suicide Prevention Month

  • Facebook
  • Twitter

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. This year has been especially hard for mental health with all the isolation, fear, and uncertainty. So I have created this micro mini quilt pattern as a means to help spread the message and also to raise funds to support the cause. You can find the pattern bundle HERE, all proceeds will spread around several charities that work to support suicide prevention and the populations that are most vulnerable to suicide. There is always hope, if you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts help is available. The suicide prevention lifeline is 1-800-273-8255.

What does the bundle include?

This bundle includes so many options for customizing your micro mini quilt. It includes several cut files and several size options. The bundle has a foundation paper piecing template with two size options. It also includes a PDF pattern for the semi colons if you prefer to make a fabric applique and do not want to use a cutting machine.

Foundation Paper Piecing Template

The bundle includes a foundation paper piecing template in two sizes. A 6″ block and an 8″ block.

The block is made up of wonky diagonal strips. You can make this mini quilt your own by using an infinite combination of fabric choices.

If you are new to foundation paper piecing you can find a tutorial HERE.

Semi Colon Cut Files

The semi colon is a symbol of a life that could have ended but instead continued.

There are two semi colon cut file options. You can cut the standard semi colon or cut a semi colon with a heart on the top.

The files also have an optional shadow which can be used to help the semi colon stand out from your fabric.

These files can be used on your micro quilt. But they can also be used separately on a t-shirt or to create stickers or just about anywhere you would use HTV or adhesive vinyl.

Semicolon PDF Files

These files are the same as the cut files above. However they are in PDF format for anyone who doesn’t have or want to use a cutting machine.

These are good for making fabric appliques.

I have also used the PDF to create a stuffed semi colon you can see below (check back next week for this tutorial and pattern!)

You Matter Cut File

This cut file is hand lettered by my dear friend Liz from Liz on Call. She has generously donated the file to this bundle!

Head to her page to find the cut file on it’s own and in sticker form!

You can use this file to make shirts with iron on vinyl (also known as HTV.) Or use it with adhesive vinyl to create a decal or sticker for your laptop or water bottle.

Why should I purchase this bundle?

Get the bundle HERE.

All proceeds for this pattern and cut file bundle will go to support charities that directly support suicide prevention OR that support the populations that are most vulnerable to suicide.

I will be spreading the proceeds from this bundle equally among these charities:

  • Semper Fi Fund
  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
  • Human Rights Campaign

I like this pattern and would like to make it but I dont own a cutting machine and cannot afford one, maybe you could consider selling pre cuts.

Hi Sue. The only part you would need a cutting machine for is the words. You could embroider words or add something else on that block instead. There is a pdf pattern for the semi colon and the paper pieced block! <3 Alicia
