10+ Must Have Cutting Tools for your Craft Room
Sewing is actually such a small part of being a sewist. There is pressing, patterns, and of course cutting fabric. Fabric cutting is one of my least favorite parts of sewing! But with the right tool cutting doesn’t have to be hard. Here are some must have cutting tools for your craft room (or your sewing room.)
10+ Must Have Cutting Tools for your Craft Room
This is just one of my 50+ easiest sewing tutorials. Check out the rest HERE.
Fiskars provided product for me to review but all opinions are my own and I have not received financial compensation from Fiskars for this post.
This cutting mat is a nice big size! Make sure and cut on a firm surface to get the straightest and best cut!
Fiskars Adjustable Rotary Cutter
I love this rotary cutter because it can be adjusted depending on what feels best to your wrist and hand. I have bad wrists from years of gymnastics so I like the flexibility of changing the head around!
Fiskars Razor Tip Micro Edge Easy Action Shears
These shears are great for those repetitive movements that you have to do over and over! These are also great for setting next to the couch for embroidery and cross stitch.
Mixed Media Shears & Premium Shears
Make sure you have several pairs of shears. You must have a fabric pair and a paper pair. I throw an additional pair in for my vinyl and interfacing and other odds and ends!
This is one of my favorite new tools! I didn’t know this even existed until recently and now I am hooked! Check out this circle top tote to see one of the fun things you can make with the cutter.
You know you need a ruler to go with your cutting mat. My old ruler didn’t fold and I can’t tell you how many times it fell over! This ruler is great because it folds and saves so much space! As I said in the video it is just as strong and reliable as my old ruler that took up a ton of space!
Fiskars Easy Change Fabric Knife
This little craft knife is so handy! It is perfect for using a stencil with fabric or for weeding vinyl.
This HeatnBond is great for adding stability to your fabric. Use it with the Silhouette machine below to cut detailed images. It also firms up your fabric so you can use a circle/shape punch that is traditionally meant for paper.
If you have been here on the blog before you have probably seen me use a Silhouette cutting machine. I use it for all of my detailed cutting, like this DecoFoil Unicorn. It is a great tool for small and detailed cutting. It is also awesome for cutting words and vinyl. I also use it for cutting stencils for using fabric paint and making t-shirts.

I may be the only one, but my internet isn’t fast enough to watch your review videos. Pictures of the products would have been great!

Lisa, my hosting company was having some technical issues yesterday! Things were having a really hard time loading! I think they have fixed the problem and it is running faster now! If you still have trouble loading the videos you can click on the name of the tool and it will take you to the amazon listing where you can see pictures!!! I hope that helps 🙂 Have a wonderful day!!
