Harry Potter Monster Book of Monsters Instructions:

This is a really quick project! If you have a scrap of faux fur sitting around this is the perfect project to put it to use. Grab the book that you want to cover and cut the fur 1/2″ above and below the book. Then cut it so that you have about 6″ of overlap on each side.

Now heat up your hot glue gun. You can use the hot glue directly on the back of the faux fur. Use a pencil to mark a line around the book on the back of the faux fur. Start by folding the 6″ flap over and hot glue along the bottom and top edges to keep these flaps in place.

Now fold the top and bottom 1/2″ edges under and glue them in place.

The last step is to create the felt details. I simply hand drew the details onto the felt and then cut them out. Then you can hot glue the felt right onto the fur. These are the pieces I made: 3 yellow eyes with 3 black slits. 1 red tongue, which also serves as a great bookmark! Two red mouth pieces and 8 white teeth.

You could also add: A strap to go around the entire book with a buckle to keep it closed. Teeth like extensions around the whole book on both top and bottom. The words Monster Book of Monsters. If you want to add the words I would recommend trimming the fur on top before using heat transfer vinyl to attach the words to the top.

Now you can insert your book! See I told you it was quick and easy.
