Paper plate

Hole Punch

Scissors

Glue Stick

Yarn – Try a fun variegated Christmas yarn like THIS one.

Plastic Needle (optional) – This needle will help them get the feel of hand sewing. It is totally optional but if your aim is to start teaching sewing I recommend getting a few of these. They are not sharp, they are large, and they work great with a yarn so they are perfect for little hands who are still learning how to use their fingers for tiny details.

Christmas Arts and Crafts for Kids:

There are lots of fun options for finishing the angel. The basics for assembling the angel are this:

Lace the thread from the center hole to each of the outside holes on each of the sections.

There are even more ways to customize these and make them fun.

  • Let the kids lace jingle bells onto the angel. Lace one bell onto the needle before each time passing through the holes in the plate.
  • Color underneath the angels wings and body before lacing.
  • Add glitter to the wings and body to add a fun touch of sparkle.
  • Glue a trim around the edge, like ric rac or pom pom.
  • Glue tissue paper underneath the lacing in pretty patterns, decoupage style.
  • String a ribbon through the center hole to hang the angel from the tree.

These make great children Cristmas tree decorations, they are wonderful Christmas ornament crafts for kids to feel like they have contributed and added beauty to your holiday season.
