10+ Easy Paper Piecing Patterns
Ice Cream Cone Pattern
This pattern has a few small pieces but it is fairly straight forward. Plus it is seriously adorable and I need to make about 1000 of them! How cute would this be as a tote bag or a wet bag for a swimsuit?
Icosahedron Pattern
I just love this modern shape! The colors are also very appealing to my eye! What colors would you use for this fun little shape?
Cactus Pattern
I still love a good cactus. You will never get me over this trend! This would be fun as part of a garden organizer bag! This is a straight forward pattern that beginners can easily tackle.
Gemology Pattern
Another fun modern block. This gem/diamond is just stunning! And you know diamonds are a girls best friend, but cloth ones are much cheaper than the real kind! This is a great project for beginners because there aren’t any small or intricate pieces. It is also easy to pick fabric for. The background and image are clearly separate so it won’t be difficult to figure out where your background fabric goes and your diamond fabric goes!
Snail Pattern
Add this snail to your garden organizer with the cactus above. How cute is this little guy? Snails are all the rage, have you heard? There are a few small pieces on this guy but nothing unobtainable, this is easily within reach for beginners.
Piggy Pattern
My aunt has always been obsessed with pigs so I have a soft spot for them! This guy is freaking adorable and I love him so much! Plus this is a super simple block that is totally achievable for newbies!
Mushroom Pattern
Stop it. This has got to be the funnest mushroom that has ever existed! Does this just scream Alice in Wonderland to anyone else? Rifle Paper Co has an adorable Alice in Wonderland fabric that would be perfect for this!! See it HERE!
Tree Pattern
Here is another simple but beautiful piecing pattern. I can see this as an adorable addition to a nursery decor! Can’t you just see it under a pretty white crib as a crib skirt?? LOVE this! And the colors are darling as well!
Butterfly Pattern
There are a lot of butterfly piecing patterns out there. Many of them are much more detailed than this. But this one is perfect for beginners because it has relatively few pieces and no small or intricate areas! This is a great starter project.
Mustache Pattern
I mean come on. How cute is this? Piecing is so fun because you can “draw” just about anything with fabric! This would make an adorable little man toddler quilt right??
Feather Pattern
This is just on the edge of easy and medium difficulty. Try at least one of the other patterns before you attempt this one. But it is so cute I just had to add it and share it with you all!!

I am totally new to paper piecing just having tried it yesterday for the first time. After I finally got it figured out I tried a really small square with three triangles. I found out a couple of things I didn’t do quite right and I also found out I really rather enjoy it! I would like to try the mushroom, cactus and the snail so far. They look so fun!
