10+ Christmas Gifts for Sewing
My husband NEVER knows what to buy for me for Christmas! I have taken the guess work out and created a great roundup of amazing sewing themed gifts that anyone who sews would love to have! Here are 10 Christmas gifts for sewing. Go ahead and get them all and put them in a basket together! Hubbies everywhere…you’re welcome!!
For someone who has always been interested in sewing but may be intimidated a sewing class is an amazing gift! Craftsy has some amazing classes!! You could do a bag making class, or sewing with a zipper, or even learn to make your own pajama pants!
I have been obsessed with this book for quite some time! So many fun and amazing quilt blocks in here!! The Farmer’s Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt by Laurie Aaron Hird
One more fantastic book for the collection is this Sweet Celebrations with the Moda Bake Shop Chefs compiled by Lissa Alexander.
This little set of thread spools has so many great colors! This is the only thread I use! I love it so much and I never have issues with breaking or tangling!! I love these Guterman all purpose thread sets!! On the thread theme, these Peels are so fun and cute! I absolutely hate when the thread gets all tangled and I have little spiderwebs in my sewing area of tangled thread that I get ticked at and end up cutting! Such a waste!
Here is one last gift in the spool theme. This is a great little caddy for storing all those spools of thread! The seamstress in your life needs this spool storage!
Whether you are just starting to sew or have been sewing a long time one thing always remains the same, you can never have too many rotary mats or cutting devices! Either you need a new bad or the mat is old and dried out. I could go on and on, but trust me a rotary mat and rotary cutter are a great gift and something you definitely need!
Just as one could always use a new rotary cutter one always needs new scissors!! I have a huge collection of sewing scissors because someone always seems to take off with them and use them on paper…GRRR! So it can’t hurt to have a stockpile. These Singer scissors are great because there is also the small pair that is perfect for quilting and detail work! This large seam ripper from Dritz with ergo handle is something that I never knew I needed! Then I lost mine and had to go back to my old one and I realized it really made my hand hurt! Maybe I should get better at sewing and not rip so much! The unfortunate truth is that as long as you sew you will need to rip seams and this ergo handle is amazing!
One thing that I can never have enough of is these quilter’s pins. They are a great length and the yellow head makes them easy to see! I am not sure where all my pins go but I can never seem to find them!! So grab some of these Dritz quilter’s pins for your sewing fanatic and they will appreciate it!
This rustic ladder may seem like it doesn’t belong in this roundup but it certainly does! When you work really hard on a quilt and then have to fold it up and put it in a dark closet a little part of you dies inside! Here is where the ladder enters the story! This is a great place to display all those quilts in a fun way! This one is only 3 feet tall so it won’t overwhelm your space but it will be super adorable and fun!
