Fabric Papel Picado Bunting Tutorial:
- Cut varying colors of fabric into rectangles that are slightly larger than your file size. Then press a rectangle of interfacing to the back of the fabric.
- Place the fabric onto the cutting mat and cut the different designs.
- You can cut as many as you need to create the bunting. Repeat the pattern or mix the different colors and images up in a random order.
- Attach the bunting pieces to a piece of trim to create the bunting.
- Use a needle and thread or sew them on the sewing machine.
- Use a ribbon, lace, crochet trim, or binding to hang the bunting.
- You can stabilize the fabric and ribbon with a stabilizer to make it easier to hang and to keep the bunting from drooping.
More Tips and Ideas:
- Try cutting the file from paper for another great party decoration.
- Cut the file from heat transfer vinyl and iron them onto a white tablecloth to add flair to your tablescape. Or hang the tablecloth to act as a photo booth backdrop.
- Draw the file onto paper and use as a coloring page for your gathering.
- Embroider the images onto a tote bag for a festive accessory.
