How to Make Your Own Cocktail Napkins – Plus Free Cut File
I am totally freaking out!! My super duper talented friend Dawn from Dawn Nicole Designs agreed to hand letter a fun cut file just for US!!!! This is a huge deal, she is seriously amazing (no really go check out her work on her site!!!) You can use the file for whatever you want (as long as you have a Silhouette) but I wanted to share with you how to make your own cocktail napkins. You can use the napkins for the New Year or for any other celebration where bubbly is involved!!
How to Make Your Own Cocktail Napkins – Plus Free Cut File
Supplies: Click the supply to see exactly what I used.
10″ Precut Squares (also known as a layer cake)
Coordinating Thread (I used a rainbow variegated thread)
Silhouette Cutting Machine (this one comes with some vinyl!)
Heat Transfer Vinyl (<— I used this aqua glitter one.)
Pop Fizz Clink -DawnNicoleDesigns Cut File
SVG Cut File (use this if you have Silhouette Design Studio)
Instructions:
These can be no sew, follow the instructions but use fabric glue or an iron on hem tape. They will be sturdier if you sew them! A layer cake can come with 20-40 squares. Make as many or as few napkins as you like. You will want one for each guest.
Take the squares and press each edge under 1/4″.
Sew the pressed edges down. Use a zig zag stitch to sew along the raw edge on the back. This will keep them from fraying when you wash them.
Cut the pop fizz clink out using your Silhouette and heat transfer vinyl. Be sure to mirror the image because you will be cutting on the back side of the vinyl. I sized the image to be about 2.5″ wide and 3.5″ tall and I used the cut settings that the machine recommended.
Iron the image on to the napkins.
That is it!! Now you have custom napkins for whatever celebration you have coming up!
Isn’t this cut file the cutest?? I am so happy that Dawn shared her wonderful talent with us!
