Cut the skull out as close to the line as possible. Use fabric markers (you might be able to use regular markers, I didn’t try) to color in the image.

I love the bright colors in a day of the dead skull so I went bright! Sew the skull using a zig zag stitch onto a large piece of felt.

Grab your hot glue gun. Attach pom poms around the edge, you can space them out or cram them in. I put them close together to cover the entire front of the embroidery hoop. I am a bit obsessed with pom poms so this project was a blast to make! Then use your glue gun to glue the felt down in the back to give it a clean look.

The last step if you choose is to cut a piece of ribbon. Glue it to the back to create a loop so that you can hang this on the door or wall. Or leave it without and just use it on a mantel or tablescape!

That is it! Quick and easy right? I think I need to make one of each of the skulls she has available! I love this project so much!
