Instructions:

Use your scraps to create two strips measuring 5″ x 9″.

Make a sandwich. Place one of the piece face down, then add fleece batting, then place the other piece face up. Pin the pieces together. Using a small mason jar or a candle draw a circle on the front.

The next step is to cut some binding. I cut strips that measured 1 1/2″. For the outside of the doorknob hanger bind it as you would a normal quilt. (Check out this Hot Air Balloon Tutorial for binding tips.) For the circle we are going to do something a little different because it is a tight circle and the standard binding techniques won’t work. Use the same 1 1/2″ strip. Press one edge under 1/4″. Sew the pressed edge around the circle on the front of the doorknob hanger. You will want to cut triangles out of the fabric on the raw edge so that it will turn the entire circle.

Flip the piece over. You can see where I have notched the fabric. Now simply sew this notched edge down on the back. This part will remain raw. This is going to be against the door and you will never see it so don’t stress about the one raw edge!Fabric Doorknob Hanger Tutorial: Add a sweet touch to your little one's nursery with this doorknob hanger. You will want to make sure that you cut it mirrored so that when you iron it on the words are readable and not backward. Iron the vinyl on and you are all done!

Tada! That is it! Make sure you head over and grab the cut file bundle. You can get the commercial file which means you can use it to create items to sell in your Etsy shop or at craft fairs! This hanger would be adorable for a baby room so make a bunch and take them to your local baby boutique and set up a deal with them! The possibilities are endless!! Fabric Doorknob Hanger Tutorial: Add a sweet touch to your little one's nursery with this doorknob hanger.
