Cricut Trick or Treat Candy Bag

I have teamed up with some amazing bloggers to show you some of the projects on Cricut Design Space right now! This couldn’t be better timing because this adorable trick or treat monster candy bag is perfect for the kids to take with them this Halloween. Here is my take on the Cricut trick or treat candy bag.

Iron On – Metallic Lime, Metallic Blush

Adhesive Foil – Burnt Copper

Standard Cutting  Mats

Black Felt

Strong Grip Transfer Tape

Instructions:

You need a tote bag for this project. You can make your own with my Quick Tote Tutorial or buy one.

Cricut Design Space has instructions for this project so I am simply going to highlight the slight tweaks that I made when I completed the project.

I elected to cut the Trick or Treat wording out of adhesive foil. I love how shiny and vibrant it is! You will want to have strong grip transfer tape to apply the foil because the adhesive is really good and it wants to stay put!! This will save you a lot of hassle, just get it, I promise it is worth it!

Next the design space pattern calls for purple felt. But when you look at the picture in design space they have actually used another layer of black that isn’t included in the pattern. I opted to skip the purple felt and cut both the legs and shoes out of black felt instead of cutting the legs out of purple felt. If you cut it out of purple the socks will be green and purple instead of green and black as you see in my pictures.

The last step that I have altered is I sewed everything together instead of using an adhesive like heat n bond or a glue gun. I sewed the shoes onto the legs and I sewed the legs onto the back of the tote. I top-stitched along the entire bottom of the bag to make sure it had a cohesive look.
