Supplies:
Fresh Cut SVG Cut File Bundle – Each month I pair up with 9 other amazing ladies to create a cut file bundle at an amazing price! These are some of the most talented gals I know, you have to check out all of their files in this month’s bundle!
Adhesive Vinyl – Black and White
Fabric Strips – (Pictured: Robert Kaufman Blueberry Park)
Instructions:
Using your cutting machine cut the alarm clock file on adhesive vinyl. From the white adhesive vinyl cut a circle that is slightly smaller than the clock face. You can easily create a circle in Cricut Design Space by adding a shape.
** I love my Cricut Maker for cutting. **
Cut strips of fabric in varying widths and lengths. Before popping open the glue lay out the strips to make sure you like the look.
Now grab your tacky glue and use a very thin layer to adhere the fabric. You can use a paint brush to spread the glue out. You don’t want any clumpy areas because is will make the vinyl look bumpy. I also used my Cricut XL Scraper to really press the fabric into the glue.
** Tip – Place books under the canvas to give yourself a firm surface when using your scraper to flatten the fabric (and for the vinyl later on.)
Be sure to glue around the edges and onto the back as well so the fabric stays flat. Let the glue dry overnight.
You could be done at this point. I love the woven look of these rainbow strips. But won’t it be more fun with a fun quote? Use your transfer tape to pick up the alarm clock and the wording. Then pick up the white circle so that it is behind the words. Trust me you want the white so you are able to read the words, ask me how I know!
** Make sure and check out the cut file bundle for even more great inspirational quotes! **
Use your scraper tool again to place the clock onto the canvas. Use a lot of pressure to make sure you remove all the bubbles and firmly adhere the vinyl to the fabric and canvas.
You can hang it or use it on a mantle. This would also be a great project to try reverse canvas artwork with. Reverse canvas is when you take the canvas off of the wood frame, stain or paint the wood, and then use it as a frame for your newly created inspirational wall art!
