Supplies:
A Cricut Maker or similar cutting machine.
Cricut Gold Iron On, Cricut Black Iron On,
Cricut Fabric by Riley Blake – Black Polka Dot Print and Orange Lined Print
Instructions:
Using your Cricut Maker cut the lettered leaf cut file from the SVG bundle on the gold holographic iron on. Weed each leaf and then cut the four leaves apart.
Cut four ovals of black iron on to go behind the letters on the leaves, this will add some contrast and allow you to actually read the fun fall words.
Cut each piece of fabric into two even pieces. Using your Easy Press attach one black oval to each of the four pieces of fabric. Then use your Easy Press again to iron on the gold leaves over top of the black iron on.
Fold each edge under 1/4″ and then fold it under again 1/4″. Use your Easy Press to set this seam. Sew the seam in place using a zig zag stitch around all four edges.
Easy Press Review:
I have avoided iron on and adhesives in my projects and sewing for a long time. I have just never been happy with the way an iron adheres these.
The Easy Press from Cricut is a game changer! It stays at a consistent heat which means it evenly heats the iron on which helps it stay in place.
I am absolutely hooked on the Easy Press and I am now much more willing to add iron and adhesives into my sewing projects! Now it isn’t a waste of time and money to add these customizations!
