I have been doing a lot of research into sewing tables and cabinets lately. Frankly I had no idea there were SEW many options. There are sewing cabinets for all price points and some of them are seriously amazing! I have teamed up with arrow sewing cabinets to share a fun collection of sewing machine cabinets with you no matter what your price point. So what is the best sewing machine cabinet, well keep reading and I will help you decide!
What is the Best Sewing Machine Cabinet?
I have organized the cabinets in order of price, as you go down they increase in price. If you do order a cabinet make sure and go watch the videos on the website to see how to assemble the sewing machine cabinets. For many of the machines you will also need to check for the custom inset that matches whichever machine you have, so don’t forget to check for that. Questions, leave them in the comments below.
Gidget II
This table is table is great for those who don’t have a huge budget. When I started sewing I didn’t have a craft room so I had to sew on my dining table. This table would have been perfect because the legs fold up and it has wheels to easily fold it and move it around. It is also a great option if you are looking for a lightweight table to take to classes or sewing retreats. This is a great entry level sewing machine table that will last you years and years.
Heavyweight
This table is designed specifically for an antique Singer sewing machine. A vintage featherweight Singer fits perfectly without an insert. It is black with gold detailing to perfectly match the machine. This singer sewing machine cabinet is similar to the Gidget in that it is completely portable. It folds up for easily transport or storage so you can take it to classes or retreats and then store it in the closet when you aren’t using it. You can enter to win this sewing table until June 30th, 2018. So hurry!!
Olivia
The Olivia is definitely MY favorite, but don’t tell any of the other sewing machine cabinets ok! It has a cute little gingerbread detailing and it comes in some seriously adorable colors. It comes in Tiffany blue, pistachio green, and white. My biggest problem is going to be deciding which color I want! Another feature I love on this cabinet is the ability to remove the machine and add an insert to make the table flush. This is a great option if you don’t have a ton of workspace. You can place your cutting mat and then cut your pieces on the cabinet and then put the machine back in to sew your project.
Folding Sewing Tables
If you are looking for a low cost option you can find some great sewing tables at Wal Mart. You can see the various tables they offer HERE. I can’t speak to the quality of these tables but if you are a smart shopper you might find a great table for a great price!
Norma Jean
The Norma Jean is one of the most versatile sewing cabinets. It folds up so it has a small footprint in your room. Or you can open it up all the way and add the optional quilt leaf to give yourself a TON of workspace. Plus there are four color options so it will match your space no matter what. There is lots of storage space and the machine retracts easily with the push of a button into the cabinet when you fold the cabinet back up so you don’t have to worry about lifting the machine repeatedly. Plus it is designed to hold a heavier sewing or embroidery machine. This is definitely a great investment and a safe place to store your beautiful sewing machine.
Ginger
Ginger is a dear isn’t she? She has a built in ironing board which is perhaps the most clever thing I have seen in a while. The ironing board makes it perfect for creating a functional workspace. No more getting up and down or moving a bunch of stuff around to press. This cabinet has a large opening so it is perfect if you have a larger machine. Unlike some of the other sewing machine cabinets this one doesn’t fold up, but that means it has TONS of storage. There are shelves on the sides, a built in bobbin/spool holder, and lots of drawers which makes it ideal for your space.
Wallaby II
The Wallaby II is great for those who need a lot of storage. It can hold two machines (as shown in the picture below.) The machines can be stored inside the cabinet and then it folds up so that it has a smaller footprint. There are also lots of great storage features. It comes in a couple of colors to fit your needs AND it has a quilt leaf on the back to give you tons of working space!! This is a great option for the serious quilter or seamstress. This is a Kangaroo brand cabinet.
Emu
The Emu is a heavy-duty sewing machine cabinet. It can hold a machine that is up to 55 pounds. The machine retracts into the cabinet and you can cover the hole to use the top as a workspace. This is also a Kangaroo brand cabinet, if you couldn’t tell from the adorable animal themed name. This machine also folds down to take up less space when you aren’t using it.
