You can find a ton of quilt patterns on Etsy. I have put together a huge list of awesome animal FPP patterns. These are varying degrees of difficulty but if you take them one step at a time and follow the basic steps and techniques for paper piecing you should be able to create all of these fun blocks.
Flamingo
This flamingo comes with a pdf pattern and a template to plan out your colors. You will love this adorable flamingo block. You can put several different animals together to make quilt patterns that will be amazing to look at! This would look great on an island themed quilt!
Pig
This pig is so adorable! The paper quilting pattern adds such great texture to the pigs face and makes it feel so life like. You could also make this one in fun colors to give it a fun cartoon look. What about 9 different pigs in 9 different colors for a fun rainbow effect?
Koala
I’m in love with this sweet little koala pattern! His little face is seriously adorable! <3<3
Swan
What a pretty swan this is! I love how sweet and peaceful this block looks. The adorable bugs set the scene and make it more like a landscape.
Llama
This llama is cute and this pattern looks to be fairly simple. This is a good pattern if you are newer to paper piecing quilts, THIS BLOCK is also a great place to start for beginners. These would be cute in different fabric patterns or you could even try adding some faux fur fabric for a really fun look.
Bear
This totem bear is seriously adorable. I love the pattern but I also really love the fabrics that she used! If you love this you’ll also love the wolf totem pattern! This shop has some seriously great patterns!
Zebra
I NEED this zebra in my life. The bright colors mixed with the black and white stripe are so visually appealing. This would make such a stunning paper pieced quilt. You can also find an extra large zebra block in this shop.
French Bull Dog
How sweet is this little dog? I love that she used Blue Carolina fabric from the Tattooed Quilter because his fabrics are amazeballs! If you love dogs and paper piecing then make sure and check out the pug, german shepherd, and scotty dog patterns as well!
Seahorse
Do you love underwater animals? This seahorse would be the star of a sea creature paper piecing quilt. This pattern is more advanced but if you know the basics of paper piecing I know that you can work it out. Check out the other awesome patterns like an otter, hedgehog, ostrich, and tons more in this cute shop!
Racoon
Racoons are a really obnoxious animal in real life but man are they cute? The only way I would let one in my house is on a quilt. This pattern is another one that is fairly easy and would be a great place to start for beginners. This shop has so many more great quilt block patterns.
Elephant
this elephant is so pretty. One of my favorite parts of paper piecing is using lots of different fabric patterns in the same color scheme and this purple elephant gives me all the happy feelings! P.S. isn’t using an embroidery hoop to show off your quilt block such a great idea? You can make all these animals and hang them in hoops rather than having to actually quilt them, such a genius idea!
