I wish the supplies were written in black type so we could really see it.

If you click them then you will be able to see exactly what I used. They are pink because they are a link.

Thanks for the info. My eyes are not the greatest anymore—cataracts!!

When you are making the second zipper tab, you say to put the wrong side down against the right side of the zipper but it looks like you put right sides together when you sewed it.
sewwhatalicia says
I might have misspoke. When you are putting the tabs down start with the right sides facing and then you will move the fabric so the wrong side is facing the zipper and top-stitch in place.
Theresa says
Is the cork ribbon fabric just for an interesting aspect or does it have a specific purpose? I have never seen that before. Can you actually stick pins in it??
sewwhatalicia says
It is just for fun! No purpose but to look pretty. I wouldn’t stick pins in it, I would recommend clips!

Enjoyed watching your videos. You give great detailed instructions.

I live in St. Charles, outside of St. Louis. I appreciate you as a local person sharing your ideas. I enjoy zipper bags and like the idea of making them for children at the Ronald McDonalds house or the hospitals. Thank you

Thanks Judy!! I love hearing from local people!! We “done time” at SLCH many many times! I have spent months of my life there and the RMHC room provided me a warm shower and a cup of coffee dozens of times! Thanks for following along <3

Could you do a bag or pouch with piping? Or a cross body bag/purse with straps? Also where do I get the new seam ripper?
I’m watching from Hilo HI. So not always live ! Your on at 5am! Really enjoying the videos. Iv’e made friends with zippers now and am comfortable using the zipper foot. I have had my currant machine for 22 years and had to look at the book to figure out how to use it!
Thank you
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, thanks for watching! The seam ripper I use currently is this one (affiliate link) http://shrsl.com/juka. I am so glad you are able to watch! I am not much of an expert on piping but I will think about including a cross body bag! Thanks for the suggestions!

I would like ideas people have to organize zippers. I have order grab bags of assorted zippers and sorted them but have not figured out a good way to keep them separated. I basically have group them by a size range, example 7 ” and less, 8″ to 10″. 12 -14 and so on. I have tried safety pins, binder clips and rubber bands. Nothing allows you easy access
sewwhatalicia says
Hmm let me think on this one! I have mine shoved in an apothecary jar with no rhyme or reason! Let me do some research and see what I can find!
