Not only are they pretty but they are one solid piece which is nice when backing a quilt. Plus the pattern is already built in which saves you a ton of work. I don’t know about you but I work so hard on the front I am often tired and ready to be done when I start to think about backing the quilt. This is a quick and easy option and you can find one in almost any pattern if you search on amazon!
A lined tablecloth is perfect for backing a quilt that you plan to use for picnics or outdoors on the lawn. The flannel inside gives it some softness while the outside is waterproof so it can easily be wiped off. I know I don’t take my quilts outside because grass and dirt are everywhere! This is a great solution for an outdoor quilt.
I find myself collecting shower curtains because there are so many that are works of art (like the one below!) They would make a great quilt back, go for one the is unlined so that it is soft and easy to work with.
Towels are another great option for quilt backing. They would be perfect for a beach quilt and you could skip the batting because they are so fluffy!
