Easy No Sew Ampersand Art
Sometimes I want to make something that is easy and doesn’t require sewing. These little felt art squares are so easy and they come together super quick. You don’t have to use an ampersand but the ampersand is pretty fun! Here is a great tutorial for using multiple colors of vinyl to create an easy no sew ampersand art.
Easy No Sew Ampersand Art
Supplies:
Expressions Vinyl Clear Grid Transfer Tape
6″ Felt Squares (heavy felt not craft felt.)
Cutting Machine (I use the Cricut Maker)
Instructions:
Use your cutting machine to cut the pieces of the ampersand. I cut three strips and placed them all on the cutting mat at the same time so I didn’t have to reload the mat repeatedly. I wanted to make a set of three so I cut the image three times.
Weed the images using your favorite weeding method.
Now cut a square of transfer tape that is large enough to cover the bottom of the ampersand. Rub the bottom section of the image onto the transfer tape using a flat edge like a credit card or a special tool meant to transfer vinyl. Start with the bottom and line the section up just above the bottom of the felt.
Rub the bottom section onto the felt and then life the transfer tape slowly off. Now using the same piece of transfer tape grab the middle sections of the ampersand in the same manner. The two pieces of the middle section will be attached at different times. Start with the larger piece and then move to the smaller piece.
Lastly place the top section using the same method explained above.
I used the same piece of transfer tape for all 9 sections of the ampersand to make all three of these felt pieces. The clear transfer tape enables you to line up the sections perfectly.
