5 Places to Learn to Sew for Free
2016 is the year of sewing and learning to sew! I am throwing everything I have into helping teach anyone who is interested how to sew. I have gathered a list of 5 great places to learn to sew for free. There are so many amazing resources out there on the world wide web and I have picked just a few of my favorites to share with you! Once you have learned the basics on this site or elsewhere make sure and check back for great easy to follow tutorials, like this one! Or this one!
Sewing School is an interactive class I started over on Facebook. There is an assignment about once a week and I am on every day to answer questions and share tips! You can find the first two posts here: Week 1 and Week 2.
Craftsy is another great place to learn! They offer several free classes and it is a great one stop shop sort of thing because they also have all the supplies and fabric you could ever need! If you already know how to sew take a more advanced class! Right now they have some of their new classes on sale for 50% off!!! <<<—-Just click there. They have a fun new class on making different clutches and also one on sewing with knits!!
Crazy Little Projects has a lot of great sewing tutorials and this year they are doing a learn to sew series! This is sure to be an informative and helpful series so go check it out!
It’s Just Sewing on Youtube. Monica at It’s Just Sewing is a new blogging friend of mine and I love her videos! She has a really fun way of presenting the knowledge you need to learn how to sew! And it is in video format which I find totally helpful and easy to follow, especially if you are a visual learner.
Sew Can She– This is one of my favorite blogs to stalk for tutorials and fun ideas! This is not in a class format like most of the other resources I have posted but if you go the the link you can see all the different techniques that she covers. Some of my favorites are a video tutorial on paper piecing, making the perfect button hole, and the oh so necessary sewing machine maintenance!!
Already know how to sew? Check out these great quilt books or this kitchen organizer! I hope you learn how to sew this year!! Find me on Facebook or Pinterest for even more great ideas!
